Himalayan Mountains Emerge Into View After Three Decades Of Pollution Lifts Due To Lockdown
For a long time, people living close to the Himalayan mountains could not get a clear view of the beauty because of a thick curtain of pollution.
Now, due to less movement (because of the COVID-19 outbreak and lockdowns in the area), the mountains are fully visible for all to see and admire from as far as 200km away.
The 21-day lockdown imposed in India has drastically reduced pollution throughout the country.
For those living near the Himalayas, it is a sight that they have not seen in the last three decades!
Breathtaking views
Malay Mail reported that Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh posted a picture of the mountain that’s visible from his rooftop saying that he could never have imagined that such a view was possible.
“Never seen Dhauladar range from my home rooftop in Jalandhar..never could imagine that’s possible..clear indication of the impact the pollution has done by us to Mother Earth.. this is the view,” he shared on Twitter.
Another Twitter user, Tj Singh, also posted a scenic picture of the mountains.
“Himalaya mountains can be seen from Jalandhar since pollution has reduced in Punjab. Beautiful sight #punjab #COVID19 #pollution ,” he said.
Looks like the world is slowly healing
